In a cold stone basement in rural Southeast Minnesota, Rachel creates jewelry from homegrown and dried gourds. She was fascinated growing gourds in my backyard garden and found that once dried they take color beautifully while having their own intriguing mottled texture. They are also incredibly light and she was able to create larger pieces, particularly earrings that were featherlight and a joy to wear. Rachel prides her work on being sustainable and handmade from the ground up.
