Meg Elaine Veitenheimer (she/her) is the artist of Nelie G. Mae beadwork. Meg is a queer mixed Ojibwe artist enrolled with Red Lake Nation. Meg experiences beading as a healing act of reclamation, and views her beadwork as one-of-a-kind wearable art. She is primarily self taught in her techniques and contemporary design choices, and is grateful to share her beadwork with others. Some of Meg’s inspiration includes: color, fluidity, balance, contrast, landscapes, the sky, water, fire, and the hope she feels in creating new work.
