Ceramics is an art form that has allowed Katherine to explore her thoughts in a more tactile way, and to express her creativity through challenges and it is always a rewarding feeling in the end. Her work is described as everyday items with character through alterations, texture and color. She works mostly with a B clay body for its porcelain appearance because she loves the stark contrast with color for her designs. She is greatly influenced by architectural elements and Art Deco floral motifs. She incorporates these elements into her work through sgraffito and Mishima techniques.
