As a young farm girl in western Minnesota, Ian developed an interest in machinery while helping with the annual wheat harvest. Though always enamored of fiber arts, she eventually chose a career as a mechanical engineer.  Several years ago, Ian found a way to combine the two passions after acquiring her first knitting loom. Influenced by Scandinavian textiles and her life growing up in rural Minnesota, she creates sweaters, vests, and accessories from extra-fine yarns on her knitting loom at her home studio in Minneapolis, MN.
