Lanesboro Arts is thrilled to celebrate the opening reception for “Art of The Grain: An Exploration of Working in Wood”, this summer’s group exhibition. On June 8th from 6 – 8 pm, explore the many skillfully crafted wooden creations on display, and hear from the artists who made them! Visitors will also enjoy live music from Nathan Davidson and complimentary light refreshments.
For “Art of the Grain”, Wood Artisans were encouraged to push the envelope, demonstrating their uniquely refined craftsmanship in functional or purely aesthetic pieces that celebrate the medium. From musical instruments, to furniture pieces, to wholly aesthetic endeavors, this show celebrates the diversity and flexibility of wood as a medium, and the expansive creativity of those who work with it. This show will run from June 8th to August 11th, 2024.
Lanesboro Arts serves as a regional catalyst for artistic excellence and educational development in providing diverse art experiences for people of all ages. The Lanesboro Arts Juried Sales and Exhibition Galleries strive to present accessible and diverse works that foster educational opportunities for visitors as well as impacting artists’ careers.
“Art of the Grain: An Exploration of Working in Wood” is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
