Join area singer-songwriters at 2 pm on Saturday, April 12th for a songwriting workshop: Songwriting through Inspiration, Intuition, & Practice! This workshop will be held at the St. Mane Theatre second floor studio space in beautiful Lanesboro, MN.

Together, songwriters will look for inspiration, follow their intuition, and discuss ways to build the practice of songwriting into our daily lives. Along the way, participants will learn tools and tricks to help spark inspiration and build their creative practice.

Whether you’ve never written a song before or written whole albums, this workshop is a great opportunity to jump in and build your skills.

This workshop will include several short songwriting exercises. Participants are not required to bring anything but themselves. However, if you write better with a guitar in your hand, feel free to bring it along.

Songwriting through Inspiration, Intuition & Practice is paired with a Spring Songwriters Showcase! This concert features four regional musicians: Jill Burkes, Audrey Robinson, Jason Chaffee, and Sarah Peterson who will perform and share about their original songs in an intimate acoustic performance at the St. Mane Theatre at 7 pm on Saturday, April 12th.

The Songwriters Showcase concert and workshop series is presented by Sarah Peterson in partnership with Lanesboro Arts. Sarah Peterson is a fiscal year 2024 recipient of a Creative Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
