Step into a world of myth, mystery and masterful metalwork with Hand of Huldra, a stunning new exhibition by celebrated artist Liz Bucheit.
Inspired by the Norwegian folklore of the “Huldra” — mystical beings said to live beneath the mountains- Bucheit’s intricate silver filigree jewelry draws from centuries of Nordic tradition while forging a voice uniquely her own.
Join us for the opening reception on Saturday, August 16 from 6-8 pm, featuring an artist meet-and-greet, live music by Kristin Eggen and Michael McGrath, and refreshments from Clara’s Eatery.
Liz, a Decorah-based artist, brings decades of experience and study from both Iowa and Norway to her work, blending ancient techniques like delicate filigree and hand engraving with contemporary elegance. Her work speaks to the deep connections between art, story, and wearer– each piece steeped in craftsmanship, folklore, and personal meaning.
The exhibition will be on view through October 19, 2025. Learn more about Liz and her work here.
