Join Lanesboro Arts and Lanesboro Artist in Residence Sophia Munic at their Residency Reflections & Workshop Progress Capstone happy hour event on Saturday, August 26th from 5 – 6 p.m. at Sylvan Brewing. Sophia will share their work-in-progress, a large-scale quilt that they will have worked on during the Lanesboro Artist Residency. Sophia and community members will also reflect on the improvisational quilting workshops, as well as connect with each other.
Sophia will show their works in progress from their quilt series, Hankerin’, which they have been working on during the residency. Sophia has been finishing their first large scale quilt in the series and beginning their second one while in residence.
During their residency from July 16th through July 30th, Sophia Munic explored improvisational quilting as a site to piece the body, and how this can materialize gender euphoria.
This event is free. The Lanesboro Artist Residency Program is supported by the Jerome Foundation.
