Blossoming this year in Lanesboro, the Lanesboro Arts Gallery is launching its first ever “Art in Bloom” experience coinciding with the Bluff Country Studio Art Tour! Lanesboro Arts is welcoming two regional florists who will each create an interpretive bouquet inspired by selected works from the Gallery. The bouquets will be on display starting Wednesday, April 23rd through Thursday, May 1st. Experience the floral art and fragrance in the Gallery as we welcome visitors and community during the Bluff Country Studio Art Tour.
Always free and open to the public, the Lanesboro Arts Gallery features artwork by more than 80 regional artists from Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa. The artwork in the Gallery features artists working in diverse media such as ceramics, glass, metal, paintings, photography, printmaking, and more.
Meet the Florists
Katie Prochaska will be participating from Decorah, Iowa. Katie and her partner Mike Bollinger are farmers/owners at River Root Farm. River Root Farm is Certified Organic by Midwest Organic Services Association and is a family farm and greenhouse operation. Their main focus is regional direct wholesale to grocers, restaurants, and institutions. Katie also grows flowers and specializes in mixed bouquets for retail, dried florals, floral wreaths, and bulk stems to DIY brides, florists & designers. She is a source of locally grown flowers for weddings, corsages, boutonnieres, and other special occasions.
Ashley LaFleur will be participating as the local florist from Preston, Minnesota. Since 2015, Ashley has been the owner of Preston Floral and Gift, a business she purchased from her grandmother who ran Preston Floral Treasures and More for almost 30 years. Ashley offers flowers and plants for any occasion such as weddings, funerals, and holidays, which can be delivered locally. She often creates the flower bouquets featured at Lanesboro Arts Gallery Artist Receptions.
The “Art in Bloom” floral arrangements experience will be held during the Bluff Country Studio Art Tour, which is a self-guided studio tour taking place in southeast Minnesota. There are over 35 artists participating in the Tour, creating an opportunity for the area residents and visitors to experience the wide range of high quality art that is created in our region.
