BIPOC Artist Residency Exhibition Oct 26 – Dec 2, 2024

An opportunity to showcase your artwork and connect with other BIPOC Artist Residency participants.

Lanesboro Arts invites former BIPOC Artist Residency Program participants to showcase their work in an upcoming featured gallery show. The exhibition will run from October 26th to December 21st, 2024 at the Lanesboro Arts Exhibition Gallery in Lanesboro, MN. The show will celebrate the diversity of mediums and creativity of the artists who have completed the first two rounds of the BIPOC Artist Residency at Lanesboro Arts. There will be an Opening Reception on October 26th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm that all artists are welcome to attend (but not required).

Participation Form:

If artists are interested in being a part of the exhibition, there is a short form available at the bottom of this page. In that form, artists are asked to submit brief information about their work and images of the work for the show via Google Drive or DropBox.

The form submission deadline is September 8th, 2024. Participants will be notified by September 23rd, 2024 of the work selected to be exhibited in the show.

All artists who fill out the online form will be accepted into the show, but the number of pieces allowed per artist will depend on how many artists choose to participate/size of work. This show is invite-only to the twelve artists who have participated in the pilot round and 1st public round of the BIPOC Artist Residency Program.

Participation Stipends:

Each artist in the show will sign a letter of agreement to receive a $250 stipend for participating and to help with exhibition costs. Participating artists will have the option of shipping or dropping off/picking up their artwork. Lanesboro Arts will reimburse you for mileage to deliver work (at the standard IRS rate) or for shipping costs to ship work.

Lanesboro Arts will also reimburse mileage for those of you that are able to attend the Exhibition Opening on Saturday, October 26th, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Show Details:

All mediums are accepted for this show including but not limited to painting, poetry, photography, film (that could be shown on monitors), textiles, and more.

Artists will be responsible for delivering/shipping their work to Lanesboro Arts by 5:00 pm on October 18th, 2024. Artists will also be responsible for picking up or requesting their artwork shipped back to them by February 1st, 2025.

Artwork included in this show has the option of being for sale or not for sale at the artist’s discretion. Lanesboro Arts’ customary consignment split on Gallery work for sale is 60% artist / 40% Gallery, with 60% of sale price going directly to the artist, 40% going to Lanesboro Arts.

Artists can offer up to five pieces to be exhibited in the show (this can be flexible depending on size), but there is no guarantee that all will be able to be included; this all depends on how many pieces and dimensions of each are submitted. We will contact you with the final selection. The Lanesboro Arts Exhibition Gallery is a limited space, and therefore, this show can only accept a limited number of large pieces.
