Join us at the Lanesboro Arts Gallery from 11 am to 1 pm on Friday, November 13th to welcome fiber artist Riley Kleve for a day of spinning yarn by hand, inspired by their handspun piece in A Common Thread. Riley will bring fiber and yarn to touch, some fiber processing tools, and a variety of spindles plus a spinning wheel to try out. If you’ve ever wondered where your yarn comes from, how exactly a spinning wheel works, or what it takes to keep handspinning alive well into the industrial age, be sure to drop by.
Riley is a fiber artist who focuses on community work with textiles, creating space for people to learn more about working with fiber, and making their own textile artwork.
This event free and open to the public, and is made possible by a grant from the Minnesota Humanities Center.
This event is also made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board grant thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
