Lanesboro Area Art Tour: Lanesboro Arts Gallery August

We welcome you to visit the artists of Lanesboro during this self-guided studio tour on August 16th and 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for a unique opportunity to visit with the artists and see how they create and shop their available body of works. Make sure you stop by the Lanesboro Arts Gallery to see new artwork and artist demonstrations. Lanesboro, Minnesota was named among ArtSpace’s America’s Top 12 Small Town Art Places. To further enhance the artistic experience in Lanesboro, a group of artists has created a series of open studio weekends for visitors to tour our inspiring Art Spaces. Outside the weekend hustle and bustle of downtown Lanesboro is a thriving community of artists. Each studio is as different as the art created there and scenic views abound.

Make sure to stop by the Lanesboro Arts Gallery! As a multidisciplinary arts organization with a passion for engaging the community, Lanesboro Arts strives to present accessible and diverse artwork that fosters education and inspiration for visitors and uplifts local artists. Visitors will find artwork for sale in nearly every conceivable medium by Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin-based artists, including artists from Lanesboro! Lanesboro Art’s Exhibition Gallery space also presents a series of art shows each year that initiate enriching discussion and connection. Located at 103 Parkway Avenue North in downtown Lanesboro, the Lanesboro Arts Gallery is a local favorite.

Join us on the evening of August 17th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the opening reception of “Traces of a Prairie, an exhibition of drawings by Lois Peterson. This series of large-scale works in graphite depicts native prairie plants and woodland trees in exquisite detail. Her work ruminates on the impacts of crop farming on local ecosystems while honoring the beauty of a vanishing native landscape. “Traces of a Prairie” will run from August 17th to October 20th.

Always free and open to the public, the Lanesboro Arts Exhibition Gallery is open Tuesday – Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm plus Sundays from 11 am – 3 pm through August 31st.
