Through happenstance, then intention, in the journey of material exploration I have found that driftwood possesses the same quality as textiles. I collect driftwood from around Lake Superior and the banks of the Mississippi River I then dye the driftwood in various plant-based dyes, most of which I’ve foraged myself. Pairing this light-weight material with precious metals, I’ve accomplished a contemporary and utilitarian design for jewelry.
