Ely, Minnesota silversmith, Sharee Johnson, expresses her artistic vision in stone and metal. “Stones are my muse and fire is my familiar.”
She’s always been an artist but made a detour to study computer science and physics. You can see a nod to those disciplines in her work which plays with suspension and negative space. Sharee’s jewelry design style is contemporary and organic. She lets the stones inform the design and enjoys the challenge of using traditional silversmith techniques to make the pieces come to life. Each piece is a unique burst of color, shape and texture.
Sharee studied under a master silversmith in Taos, New Mexico. She has won best of show awards for the quality and unique design of her work.
