Leisa loves the unusual inherent in the seemingly ordinary. She finds it in the graceful curves of a flower which are not so dissimilar to the graceful curves of the human form. The theatrical, dramatic, and colorful tend to meld with the organic, anatomical, and biological in her paintings the way they have in her life. The texture and sensuality of beautiful folds or exotic fabric patterns tend to reinforce the same thread of organic beauty juxtaposed with figurative and botanical images in her work. As she has moved into more abstract attempts at portraying forms she has loved exploring ways to add those to her work, either figuratively or literally. The combination of these elements hold for her in one place all the beauty the world has to offer.
